Winthrop University Gallery Events for Spring 2008


Event Dates:

Feb. 13th, 2008 - Artist Kim Dick presentation at 7pm in the Rutledge Auditorium

Feb. 15th, 2008 - "Performing Gender" from 6:30pm to 8pm in Rutledge's Patrick Gallery

Feb. 28th, 2008 - Juan Logan & Susan Harbage Page lecture at 8pm in the Rutledge Auditorium

March 3rd, 2008 - John Moore lecture on recent trends in Contemporary Art at 8pm in Rutledge Auditorium

March 12th, 2008 - John Hill lecture at 7pm in Rutledge Auditorium

International Arts Movement Conference '08


The annual International Arts Movement (IAM) Conference will be held from February 28th, 2008 to March 1st, 2008 at BMCC's Tribeca Performing Arts Center, located in the historic district of lower Manhattan. This event will mark IAM's seventeenth conference and second gathering at the TPA Center. Presentations will be made by artists from varied disciplines, including Dick Staub (Moderator, Broadcaster, writer and Public Speaker), Terry Teachout (Drama Critic), Sara Hanssen (filmmaker), Makoto Fujimura (Artist and IAM Founder), Jeff Speck (Urban Designer), and many more. Friday will include a variety of workshops, from NY tourism and art history, to "Unclogging your Creativity" and "Practical Steps Help Realize Your goals." Saturday will provide artists a chance to collaborate with fellow artists of their own discipline, share work, gain feedback, and establish networks. Regular Registration for the conference is $370 and student registration is $109.
